Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

July 10, 2014

Hello everyone! I just wanted to show you guys the impromptu photo shoot that me and my sisters Kath and Mae did a few months back (around February 2014 I think). This was not really planned, but Pichi always brings his camera with him wherever we go, and when we visited my family in Laguna, my sisters showed me all these gowns/dresses that my Tito Tenus and Tita Nellie,  gave to them when they recently visited the Philippines, and we all agreed that it's time to test out the dresses and do some girl bonding...

That's my sister Mae on the right, and me on the left. The dress that she's wearing is a polka dotted tube dress with a black tie belt attached, from Forever21. I on the other hand am wearing a vibrant red dress that is made of a stretch material has black beads for details.

And here is the dress in whole. I only paired it with brown boots because that was what I am wearing when I visited them. Oh, and that's my daughter Jenae channeling her inner cowboy, complete with a lasso and a cowboy hat. :p

And here is my sister Kath on the right, trying out the said Forever21 dress along with gladiator sandals that has mini jewel studs for detail. Mae on the other hand is wearing a baby pink tube dress that's most probably inspired from Princess Ariel's pink gown, with lavander silk inside the slit of the dress.

And here we are trying hard to be models. Hahaha! Anyways in this photo I am wearing a long dark turquoise colored gown that reminds me of those nailpolishes with hologram effect because of the golden specs that only appear when hit by the light. Kath on the other hand is wearing a strapless LBD that has the same gold hologram effect, and on top is a coverup made of entirely black beads. I think her pairing here is great with those gladiator sandals on, comfy and yet dressy.

In this photo Mae is wearing a light blue green tube strapless dress, with pleats along the chest area and a slanted cut along the knees for detail. I think she looks ready for prom, don't you? :)

Next ones are solo shots of us... Out of all the dresses/gowns that we tried this one I liked the best on me(although Mae modeled the dress best for sure). The color cobalt blue really makes me and my sister's skin more mestiza looking, and this dress's gradient effect details give it the feel of waves of an ocean.

In this photo I can really feel the vibe of Kath being a true model here. And I like the slimming effect that the dress gave her. Black really is beautiful, no?

Now this is what I wore when I visited my family. The shirt was from Pippa clothing (Ana Victorino's sister's online shop), and it complemented the flowy skirt that my tito Rocky gave me years ago, although now is the only time I had actual confidence to wear it. The brown boots are actually thrifted from Baclaran (of course I sanitized the shoes first before putting them on after testing them hehehe).

Now this one is another (failed) attempt at us trying to be models, and when Pichi explained the situation of how the photos are turning out, well what happened in the next frame was this...

#BoomPanes! Oh diba, talagang girl bonding ang kinahinatnan... Or do we look just like those guys who are high on pot and stuff? hahaha! Kidding aside, I really just missed my girls and it was really fun to pull off the photoshoot, which by the way was held in my dad's backyard place. The reason why it looks so much like an abandoned building is because he was planning to renovate my deceased lola's house.

So there... Thank you very much for taking time to read my very first post in ChicMix, and I do hope that you follow me on Bloglovin, Instagram and subscribe to my bog via email.

XOXO,

Nicole
