A letter to my 14 year old self...

Hi! So really, I just wanted to show you a few things, and inform you of a lot more. If you don't believe that I am YOU 10 years into the future, let's just say I know your deepest darkest secret, and I know that you fell in love with cheesecakes and this cutie 4th year guy when you were in 6th grade. Who can blame you, he's so understanding and really really sweet. Although you might think he is a little too old for you, let's just say he's a foreshadowing of what's to come. ;D

On to advices, my dear Cristine, just hold on and continue to do what you love. Continue to have that never ending passion for writing up essays, drawing up characters and comics, no matter how difficult it may be at times, because that passion to write and create stories, share your experiences, will be your stone and your guide in life.

It will open you to this new world of writing and helping out soon, and it is also like creating a mini magazine of what you have been up to. If ever you get to that point in life, please for the sake of progress DO NOT STOP. Even if things look bleak and grey, and almost everyone is telling you that you won't succeed, for the love of YOUR SANITY, I repeat: DO NOT STOP.

You're currently in your second year high school now, and let me just tell you that please do continue to study as hard and as efficient as you can.  It will all work out, and that hard work will pay off maybe not this year, but definitely in the next few years to come.

There will come a time in your life soon where you will feel too curious and rebellious. All I ask is for you to act on what you know is better. You know in your heart what is right, and so please act on it. Don't let your curiosity cloud the better of your judgement.

And when it comes to choosing your courses, Tin Tin, I wish that you follow your heart. You and I both know that you are more inclined to do well in Arts and Literature of some sort, and you will know which school to go into once you enter it's hallowed halls. It will feel like HOME. :)

Ah, well, when it comes to other aspects of your life I'm sure you'll do fine. Pretty soon you will shed the image that your classmates have forced upon you today and be your own person. And when that happens...

I know I'll be overflowing with joy and tears in my eyes at the way you have grown and flourished.

Treasure your friends, as I always say, but amidst it all, treasure your siblings and parents and relatives the most. Although your immediate family may not understand your possible decisions in the future, you might be pleasantly surprised with your provincial relatives. Especially your ninang. ;)

Cheer up okay? Life will not always be as bleak as where you are standing in now. Also, even if you might find yourself 'handicapped' once school year ends, don't worry about it too much.  It's part of your charm, and you'll learn to live with it and get stronger because of it... :)

UPDATE:

This was supposed to be posted a couple of days after my birthday, but I only got to finish this now. :) If you got this far, thanks for reading a few of my ramblings. Now you know a little bit more of me and my past.
