Hapee for Fusion: The 1st Philippine Music Festival

Hapee for Fusion: The 1st Philippine Music Festival

Music is a vital part of our culture. It may define who we are as Filipino people and this is why it is very important for us to preserve Original Pinoy Music (OPM).

OPM for me is the best way to communicate my feelings, and it lets me reminisce how was the world during the time I heard a certain song. OPM, most especially songs from Parokya ni Edgar, Rico Blanco, Kamikazee and Andrew E. hold memories near and dear for my heart. Those jamming sessions I had with my younger siblings during roadtrips and whenever we get scolded by our dad for doing something wrong, we just turn the cd player or the radio on and listen to these guys(or sometimes I get and play my guitar) and help us through the bad days.

Or what about those cheesy songs that make their way through song requests during school events like... (please play the song to get what I mean.. heheh)

Nung una kitang makilala di man lang kita napuna,
bad trip talaga! na- i- in lab ako sa 'yo!

-Parokya ni Edgar| Maniwala Ka Sana

I just hope that the youth today can still hear and realize the awesomeness that these Filipino artists hold. I'm kinda sad that nowadays when I turn the radio on most of what I hear are clubbing songs or K-Pop, which I can't understand most of the time due to language barriers...

Hapee and Fusion

The good news is that FUSION: The 1st Philippine Music Festival aims to promote and better appreciate OPM especially by the youth despite the entry of foreign influences. This event is considered to be the first ever gathering of top Filipino artists from different genres to celebrate Philippine music.

Headlining this exclusive Filipino line-up of music icons are are Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo, Parokya ni Edgar, Yeng Constantino, Andrew E, Noel Cabangon, Kamikazee, Rico Blanco, Wolfgang, Gloc-9, The Dawn, Ebe Dancel, Joey Ayala, Tres Marias, Sandwich, 6cyclemind, Kitchie Nadal and Barbie Almalbis.

Hapee Toothpaste, the leading Filipino-brand toothpaste, is excited to support Carat Philippines in mounting Fusion. It highly recognizes Pinoy pride, thus, supports Filipino talents. Hapee is also known for its deep understanding of Filipino emotions.

  1. I'm glad to know that there's an event like this to relive OPM songs, so that the young Pinoy generation will know that we have our very own music that we can all be proud of.

  2. I agree that some teens are more into K-pop songs now than OPMs. I love OPM songs.

  3. Oh wow this sounds like a really cool event! I also love OPM a lot, more than foreign music actually. I used to be obsessed with Eheads haha

  4. Sounds like a really nice event bound to happen! :D

  5. Wow, this is such a great initiative by Hapee toothpaste! More Filipinos should support OPM.

  6. I love listening to OPM. It's just sad that it seems OPM is slowly dying. The veteran singers and musicians are all gone (almost).

  7. yup.. konting konti na lang ang natitira.. :(
