Whipped Salon MNL | Why go for Caramel Scrubs and Waxing?

I have always been conscious of my hairy underarms since I was a teen, and the easiest available way to get rid of them, back then was plucking and shaving. The result of those teenage experimenting years? Dark underarms and chicken skin as I grew older.

So I went back to something more natural, which is Caramel Scrubs and Sugar Waxing.

What exactly is Caramel Scrubbing?

Caramel scrubs or sugar scrubs, is a gentler way of exfoliating and helping the skin achieve maximum glow. Personally, I find it gentler than salt scrubs because the granules is round, hence it doesn’t have much ability to “cut” the skin. Also, it’s a far better choice for sensitive skin types and the only choice for the face... Sugar granules dissolve more easily in hot water too- making them less abrasive than salt scrubs.

You've heard about sugar scrubs helping to lighten dark lips right? Same goes for our Underarms and Legs. ;) Caramel/sugar scrubbing is also a less irritating way to achieve lighter skin in general.  And added with the organic way of sugar waxing, your skin will definitely be more happy!

You guys know that I usually frequent the ATC branch of Whipped for my waxing service needs, but as they are closed recently, I went to the BGC Branch instead.

As always, they blew me away with the cutesy pastel colors, and the friendly staff there. :)

First, the attendant cleaned my underarm. Then she scrubbed it using the caramel then she used sugar.  Afterwards, the sugar waxing commenced. The whole procedure took around 30 minutes for both armpits.

Also, if you've recently given birth (say 4 months and NOT Cesarian Section), regular sugar scrubbing is an awesome and gentle way of lightening the darkened stretchmarks on our tummy and thighs. When I gave birth to my youngest, Rafael, I bought myself a sugar scrub which I use when I take a warm bath.. And the skin around my tummy and my legs are as light as ever.

Now I am more confident in wearing swimsuits because of this! I am currently having the Whipped team do the caramel scrubbing for me lately, cause we moms deserve a bit of pampering from time to time!

  1. I'm very old fashioned in this haha. I really only shave. I have tried waxing strips once. And I hated it haha. But never tried again. This sounds like it's orth a try though. Maybe it's time for me to give something else a shot.. :)

  3. i love doing body scrubs! it's always so comfortable and my skin feel so ridiculously smooth right after. but i'm less inclined to waxing though, will prefer a more permanent and less painful method like IPL. And I like how they call it Caramel scrubs instead of just sugar scrubs. Caramel sounds so much more yummy!

  4. Reading the 10 benefits makes me want to try it on the future. For sure it smells yummy too. Have watched on youtube how some do it on sugar I wonder how it differs from the caramel.
