Pop Goes Boom: xboom by will.i.am Launched by LG Through K-Pop Sound Party

LG Electronics cranked up the volume at Xylo at the Palace with the launch of its newest audio lineup, the LG xboom by will.i.am: Pop Goes Boom. Packed with K-pop beats, live performances, and plenty of bass, the night was a full-on showcase of what LG calls its “groundbreaking approach to audio technology.” 

And with will.i.am as LG’s “Experiential Architect,” the lineup was infused with his creative touch, blending sleek design with performance-driven hardware. The result: speakers that don’t just play music—they make a statement. Whether it’s a living room jam, a park picnic, or a studio session, the LG xboom lineup is built to move with you and move you.

Four ways to feel the Boom

• LG xboom Stage 301: The heavy hitter. A 6.5" woofer, dual midrange drivers, and mic controls for impromptu karaoke nights.

• LG xboom Bounce: Portable but mighty, with dual passive radiators and twin dome tweeters for that extra punch.

• LG xboom Grab: Designed for music on the move with a crisp 16mm tweeter and a tube-shaped form factor you can carry or hang anywhere.

• LG xboom Buds:  Graphene-coated drivers, triple-mic setup, and advanced noise cancellation for crystal-clear calls and detailed audio.

With Auracast, multiple xboom speakers can be linked with just a tap, turning any space into an instant surround-sound zone. Other LG audio favorites like the XBOOM XL, XBOOM Go, and XBOOM RN Series also made a cameo at the event.

Xylo was transformed into a bass-powered dance floor with performances from K-pop-inspired acts NEW:ID and Idol Philippines 2019 champ Zephanie. Both artists put the speakers to the test—NEW:ID with high-energy choreography to tracks like Ghost and Killing It Girl, and Zephanie with powerhouse vocals on Problem and Bang Bang.

The event was also attended by special guests, including Sandra Jung, Kristy Cho, Mika Reyes, and Bianca Yao with the Gamers' Run Club.

The launch doubled as a K-pop Dance Battle, with dynamic performances from DazZ Official, Excrementum, Kairos, Principtium, and Psycho. After an electrifying showdown, Principtium clinched the championship, followed by Kairos and Psycho. Winners got the much coveted xboom stage 301 as well as cash prizes. Consolation winners received LG xboom Bounce units.
