Momcozy Celebrates Breastfeeding Month with Filipino Moms and Experts
If there's one thing motherhood probably doesn't come with enough of, it's a pause button.
So it felt fitting that Momcozy's first-ever brand event in the Philippines, Breathe & Breastfeed: Support Every Latch, Letdown, and Little Win, made room for exactly that. Held at Vinta in Quezon City in celebration of Breastfeeding Month, the afternoon brought together healthcare professionals, breastfeeding advocates, community leaders, and moms for conversations around breastfeeding and the kind of support that can make a difference when you're figuring things out one feed at a time.
But before things got too serious, there was also coffee. And journaling. And a chance to put together a moodboard-inspired page, which was honestly a nice little excuse to sit down, get creative, and take a breather. Self-care is in the little times you remember yourself, sometimes it's coffee in hand, a few minutes with a pen and paper, and being with friends and not having to rush anywhere.
The bigger conversation, of course, was about breastfeeding support.
Dr. Alison Gutierrez-Maglaque, MD, CLSP and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), led the keynote presentation with evidence-based insights on breastfeeding and infant care. She was joined by board-certified pediatrician and health educator Dr. Cristal Laquindanum-Tan and Evey Morales, Community Leader of Pumping Inays PH, for a discussion on breastfeeding basics, common challenges, support systems, and the role technology can play in modern parenting.
And if there was one takeaway from the conversation, it's that mothers don't have to shoulder it all. Support can come from healthcare professionals, yes, but also from partners, families, fellow moms, and communities that understand that breastfeeding isn't always as straightforward, because every child and feeding journey is different.
Momcozy also used the event to introduce more of its maternal and baby-care ecosystem, which goes beyond wearable breast pumps and into breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and everyday parenting.
One of the key products on display was the Momcozy Wellness 1 (W1) Warm-Massage Wearable Breast Pump, which combines wearable pumping with warmth and rhythmic massage. Its SoftPulse™ Technology features 360° full-coverage warmth and a five-zone circular vibration massage designed to help ease physical tension and support the body's natural let-down response.
In other words, it's designed to give moms one more practical option that can fit into real life, whether that means working, moving around, or simply trying to get through the day without being tethered to one spot. Ms. Evey even shared a story of a mom in her community who pumped while in a concert. And the three speakers noted that pumping is really not just for the baby but also for the mother's health.
All in all, we were reminded that breastfeeding support comes in many forms. Sometimes it's expert advice. Sometimes it's another mom sharing what worked for her. And sometimes, perhaps, it's being given permission to sit down with a cup of coffee and do absolutely nothing urgent for a few minutes.
For Momcozy, there is no single definition of a successful breastfeeding experience. Progress may mean achieving a better latch, finding a pumping routine that works, getting trusted professional guidance, or simply knowing where to turn for support.
By bringing experts, communities and mothers into the same conversation, Momcozy aims to help Filipino mothers feel better informed, better supported and more confident in making the choices that work for themselves and their families.
I really loved how Breathe & Breastfeed, Momcozy's first Philippine gathering managed to make space for both: the bigger conversations around supporting mothers, and the small pauses that moms probably deserve a little more of.
