Zenfone 5Q | The Quad Cam Phone for Keeps!

So let's sit down, have some coffee and talk tech.

To be honest I really really love phones that offer wide angle lenses for their cameras. Especially when you can also do it for your selfies. Why? Because I really love taking #OOTDs of my clothes and if you are out on your own, travelling or what not, it is the easiest way to achieve a striking OOTD by yourself!

I'll be reviewing the Zenfone 5Q this time, and I am currently writing this while still sick, so this review won't be as organized as before. Don't worry though, I'll highlight the key points later. Bear with me please? Yay! Thanks!

While I was not expecting much, Zenfone 5Q's quad cam technology delivered quite a lot for me. At first it seemed like a toned down version of Zenfone 5. But then, I really fell in love with the 20MP selfie and 16MP rear primary shooters coupled with120° wide-angle camera at both front and rear cameras. Now, what really sealed it for me is how easy it is to multi task with this phone, which I'll talk more about later. The four cameras enable users to capture moments artistically within its 18:9 display. Zenfone 5Q delivered well on my dilemma of capturing OOTDs and even scenic shots with that quad cam technology of theirs.

Videos on the other hand tend to refocus a lot especially if your light is changing. (I mostly do my videos while travelling with the kiddos and it is what happened.) I won't recommend for a long video per se but for those quick videos or creative shots/ b-roll for your vlogs it is good. I noticed that it has a bit of stabilization feature in wide angle mode so that is a plus.

When it comes to the look of the phone, I prefer mattes to be honest just because they are more functional, *Ahem Zenfone 4* and I like how Asus went down the middle of the road with a shiny blue- black back cover and matte edges. I really wish though that with this new era of phones having shiny back covers, they also come up with a classy casing that can still show off these covers. Because while they are beautiful and are perfect for that classy OOTD shot or Flatlay Shot, I tend to put it inside a pencil case with soft cloth and foam just to preserve the design.

You have quite a lot of storage with this one, packing in 64GB worth of storage and 4GB memory and it also has awesome features for battery saving which I like.

I also have no problem with the speakers, although they can use a bit of a touch up if you are more of a bass person. The speakers were going towards a flat EQ for me. On headphones it is better. Also love the fact that they have extra earbuds with the package.

Performance wise, when you open it, it comes fully equipped with your basic google apps plus facebook, messenger and instagram. You can play games with this phone without lagging, although of course if you are a heavy user of wifi/data and you love your netflix or video binging, this would probably last you the whole day. Think office hours plus some overtime. :D It's okay for me though because I always turn off my wifi when I am not using it hence it lasts longer than that for me and I also like that they have this battery management option where you can input your preferences.

Overall, it is definitely way better than it's predecessors, and the only issue I see here is that adjustment period you have to do when you're say a previous ios user etc. This is priced at 16,995 Php, but is currently on sale for 14,995php! You can get it at amy Asus stores nationwide. I think this works great as a personal phone that can capture all those wonderful memories in a snap.. #WEfie!
