Why You Should Visit Whistler in the Summer Sunshine

Ever wonder what happens to Whistler once the ice melts away? A known mountain resort in Western Canada's British Columbia, there's more to it than snowboarding and skiing.

Whistler is an outdoor enthusiasts' playground, and in the summer, the activity options are endless.

A little backstory on Whistler: It has a diverse mix of people, with locals who have stayed and plenty of tourists who travel from all over the world to ski, snowboard, and enjoy everything outdoors- even in the summer.

Today is the best time to move, as there's plenty of luxurious real estate for sale in Whistler. It has charming European style villages, plenty of restaurants, farmer's markets and activities all year round. The community is friendly and warm, you will be comfortable and feel like part of the family in no time.

Things to do

Although Whistler is known as a top ski destination, there is so much more to this resort than snow. From hiking trails to lakes and mountain ranges, there is always something fun to do. Whistler is also home to one of the world’s most scenic golf courses. You will enjoy the breathtaking views and pick up fresh produce from the weekly farmer’s market, too.

The simple joys can be found around the lakes in Whistler. If you want to fly fish, locals will tell you to go to Green Lake on the northern edge of town. Alta Lake is another spot - it is hard to miss as you drive into town. This lake is loved by locals and visitors alike for its beautiful scenery, lakeside parks, and water activities.

If you go to Canada to see scenery, you must ride the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Not only does it provide you with the journey between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain, but you are also treated to a stunning 360-degree view of the village, mountains, lakes, and glaciers.

Ziplining is a growing trend in Canada - if you haven’t tried it yet, now is the time! The rush of adrenaline while Ziplining is definitely fun. You can also take Ziptreks, a guided tour where you can learn about the trees, animals in the area, and geographic features. Some courses have multiple lines for a more breathtaking, longer view.

Do you want a bit of a challenge and relaxation? White water rafting is thrilling, enjoyable, memorable, and entirely worth every second spent doing it. It’s so much fun that people tend to take rafting trips annually. The thrill of crashing waves hitting your face, being jolted around in the raft, and going toe to toe against the elements causes your adrenaline to rise and for you to truly feel alive. If you are looking for an adventurous way to enjoy yourself, plan a trip and hit the river. It is certainly something you will not forget.
