Samsung A73 5G Review: Awesome, Affordable and Extra Sturdy for a Mom Lifestyle

Thinking of starting up your content creator journey? Or maybe you just want a very stable phone, with long battery life. Something that's great for casual gaming and entertainment, and a camera that won't let you down. I recently got my hands on a review unit of the Samsung A73 5G and I'm pretty impressed.

Check out why Samsung A73 5G stands for Awesome with my full review. And why you should get the highest mid-ranger that Samsung has to offer!

Samsung A73 5G Build and Battery

I love the matte stylish color of this set. My unit comes in Awesome Gray, with a matte back finish, and the bonus for me is the IP67 rating. It is perfect for me who loves to bake and cook, and follow recipes via youtube. The rating ensures us that it is spillproof and can withstand light drizzles or rains while taking outdoor photos.

On the sides, you'll find the power button and volume keys. You'll find the mic, usb-c port and speaker set up at the bottom. It is sporting the Punch hole look for the camera, and the bezels are ultra thin.

Let me just say that I am in love with units that have big batteries, and this one did not disappoint. With a whopping 5000 mAh battery, I found that I would see the need for charging on the next day. It gives me up to 36 hrs of battery usage, and that's considering that I use it for watching a movie or binge-watching Love it or List it and the anime Overlord and the usual photoshoots and calls to friends and family.

Samsung A73 5G Display and Performance

The A73 5G setup has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-V display with a 2.4GHz Snapdragon 778G octa-core processor. You get up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This is expandable by up to 1TB via a microSD slot.

Everything checks out on paper, and when you test it out it can handle most games. It might be a bit hot when you use it for the ultimate game, Genshin Impact but when my kiddos were using it for Call of Duty, it performed great without lags, stayed relatively cool and didn't heat up until much later. You can be sure that if you'll use this for online studying or work, it is pretty stable and fast, plus that big internal storage is an awesome bonus for me.

I use the A73 differently though, as a mom who is more into photos and just watching my favorite series, and the A73 is AWESOME for this job. You're getting a 6.7″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O Display, and it was such a treat to watch my favorite movie scenes and series in high resolution, with the right vivid colors.

Samsung A73 5G Camera

Coming in from my previous phone, the A71, I really loved the main camera upgrade. It went from a 64-megapixel main camera, to a 108MP main sensor. I am a bit sad that they had the telephoto lens from the A72 removed, and replaced said telephoto lens with a usual macro lens. It also has a 5-megapixel depth lens and an additional 5-megapixel sensor. Meanwhile, selfie and groupie aficionados like me can shoot front-facing shots with the 32-megapixel camera.

Below are some of my sample shots. Video setup is also great cause you're getting sharp videos, and it is decent for a bit of low-light video.

Main Camera

Ultra Wide

You're seeing here a comparison of 1x zoom vs the ultrawide lens at 0.5x zoom. Main camera is already great for capturing landscapes for sure, but if you want to take it up a notch then the Ultra Wiide can definitely give you a better shot.

Food Mode

A definite plus for food content creators or those who just love to share their mouthwatering homemade dishes. The camera of A73 really captures the sharp details of food, and it delivers a photo that you can almost smell and taste for sure.

Night mode

The one with a watermark is the main camera shot, not in night mode. Compared to the next photo, captured in night mode, night mode has better sharpness for photos.

Portrait mode

Gotta love the details of that 32megapixel lens!

There are cute perks to using the Samsung A73 for your photography, as it has a built-in way to enhance your photos - over at the "Remaster image" option once you take your shots. You also get a chance to get photos with reduced noise due to the Big Pixel Sensor.

Price and Overall Thoughts

I really love the upgrades, especially that camera upgrade and the waterproofing rating. You're getting a great unit for entertainment with that Super AMOLED Infinity-V display. It can withstand water spills whenever I use it for youtube recipes in the kitchen and light rains while shooting outside. Add in that big memory, fast charging set up, and extra long battery! I am happy to buy this unit for myself. You can get the A73 5G in Authorized Samsung stores for:
