iHeartPH Season 10 starts off strong with Special episodes of Valerie Tan in Hong Kong

iHeart PH officially kicks off its 10th season with host Valerie Tan taking a bold step beyond borders, launching with a special three-part adventure in none other than Hong Kong. Premiering June 8 at 10:30 AM on GTV, passionate traveler and host Valerie Tan, shows her recent escapades in the city bring a fresh, spirited energy to the beloved show.

This season, iHeart PH partners with Discover Hong Kong to spotlight the city’s vibrant culture through a distinctly Filipino lens. And if there’s one thing Valerie has mastered over the years, it’s embracing the world with an open heart while staying rooted in the essence of being Pinoy. “It’s not just about seeing the sights,” she shared during the recent iHeart PH x Discover Hong Kong press event, “it’s about understanding the people, their stories, and how they connect with ours.”

She shows that the journey was anything but typical in these special episodes. One of the most memorable highlights? Her climb up the iconic 14-meter bun tower during the Cheung Chau Bun Festival. This isn’t just any race—it’s a tradition steeped in cultural symbolism. Held every May, the festival features the eye-catching Piu Sik parade, where children dress as gods and folk heroes, and climbers scramble to collect “Ping An” buns, said to bring peace and good fortune. Valerie’s retelling was electric—equal parts adrenaline and awe, with the kind of insight only a seasoned traveler could deliver.

At the heart of the press event was a message that resonated deeply: keep your mind open. “Don’t stereotype what Hong Kong is,” said Hong Kong Tourism Board Regional Director Liew Chian Jia. “When you explore with curiosity, you’ll discover things that surprise and inspire you.” And that’s exactly what iHeart PH does best—it encourages us to look beyond the surface, whether we’re walking the neon-lit streets of Mong Kok or lounging on a beach in Palawan.

But no matter how far Valerie travels, there’s always a quiet pull back home. “Syempre I always go back to my home which is the Philippines,” she said with a smile. It’s a sentiment many of us know all too well. Even after tasting Hong Kong’s legendary egg tarts or witnessing the serenity of its temples, Valerie insists, “Sobrang mas maganda pa rin ‘yung beach natin – as in incomparable.”

As iHeart PH enters its 10th season, it’s not just expanding its reach—it’s expanding its soul. With global stories, local heart, and Valerie leading the way, this season promises moments that move, inspire, and remind us of who we are: curious explorers, proud storytellers, and forever Filipinos.
